● What's the difference between nylon 66 and nylon 12?
A: PA66 has a higher melting point in polyamide materials. PA66 can maintain strong strength and rigidity at higher temperatures. PA66 is still hygroscopic after molding, its degree mainly depends on the composition of the material, wall thickness and environmental conditions. Nylon 66 provides the best balance of various properties and is the strongest of all nylons.
PA66 has the highest mechanical strength and the widest application in the PA series.
PA66 has high fatigue strength and rigidity, good heat resistance, low friction coefficient, good wear resistance, but high moisture absorption and insufficient dimensional stability. In order to improve the mechanical properties of PA66, various modifiers are often added.
PA66 has low viscosity, so it has good fluidity and its viscosity is very sensitive to temperature changes. The shrinkage rate of PA66 is between 1% and 2%. PA66 is resistant to many solvents, but has weak resistance to acids and other chlorinating agents.
